Yes you read the title right! Google has announced a new service, dark web monitoring for all users. This feature aims to help you protect your online presence by alerting you if your sensitive information appears.
According to a report, shared by Dale Arasa from Inquirer, Google’s dark web monitoring will allow you to check if any of your personal data has been compromised.
If found, you can request Google to remove these search results to prevent misuse of your information.
It’s important to act quickly if your information appears on the dark web. Experts advise changing passwords and taking steps to protect your identity, such as freezing credit accounts.
Starting July 2024, users in 46 countries, including the Philippines, will have access to this tool. As of now, access to the Results About You page, where you can monitor the web’s activity, is “not yet supported” in the Philippines. Users there will have to wait a bit longer to use this new feature.
Ready to protect your online presence with Google’s new monitoring?
