You may have forgotten that Google launched its own Android tablet two years ago. Well, it’s okay because Google decided to drop the device. It was introduced in 32GB and 64GB models. Earlier this year, the company decided to stop selling the 32GB variant and now they have decided to drop the other model as well.

The hardware of the tablet was originally intended to run on Chrome OS, however, the company couldn’t get the platform ready for an all-touch device in time. So, they used Android OS instead. It was actually offered with huge discounts via the Google Store, but guessing on what the company is doing right now, it still didn’t sell quite enough.

The Pixel C was actually a device to prove that Android can run well on that processor, though it was working fine for a couple of months but failed later on. There are still Android tablets on the market right now, but nowhere near as popular as Apple’s iPad.

Here’s Google’s statement regarding the Pixel C:

“As is common when a device has been out for a few years, we’re now retiring Pixel C and it is no longer available for sale. However, we are committed to updating and supporting it, including the recent update to Android 8.0, so customers can continue to get the best out of their device. Our newly launched Google Pixelbook combines the best parts of a laptop and a tablet for those looking for a versatile device.
