Globe Telecom Inc. said that mobile data download and upload speeds got faster in 127 places across the country— with Bohol having the most amazing 717.32% jump in upload speed, in the second quarter of this year compared to the same time last year.
The Ayala-led telco said that this included remote places of the country, giving more customers a better way to use data and bringing them into the digital world.
Globe’s head of consumer mobile business, Darius Delgado, believes that there is a steady rise in demand for mobile data, especially in the last few years. Because of this, Globe has been constantly improving to give users a better experience.
Aside from Bohol, Barira in Maguindanao, was said to have shown the biggest increase in transfer speed, at 273.13%.
Globe made lists of the top download and upload speeds, and Clarin and Barira were on both of them.

This year, Globe will spend $1.3 billion on capital expenses, which is 30% less than in 2022.
As of June 2023, the company had built 542 new cell sites and upgraded 5,087 mobile sites to LTE to meet users’ growing data needs.
It also put in about 148 thousand fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) lines, which is a lot less than what it did last year. This was done to get the most out of the fiber it already had.
Globe has turned on 356 new 5G sites across the Philippines as of the first half of 2023. This means that 97.44% of the National Capital Region and 91% of key cities in the Visayas and Mindanao are now covered by 5G outside.
Friday, the price of a Globe share fell by PHP45, or 2.41%, to PHP1,825.00.
