According to The Elec, Apple’s ProMotion displays will not be going on the vanilla and Max models, and they have also confirmed what type of panels will go on them.
The report states that Apple will use LTPS backplanes for its 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. The material set M11 will be used to make these components in this case. The Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra display panels are manufactured using this exclusive material set.
There will be an LTPO display plane with ProMotion on the iPhone 14 Pro (6.1-inch) and the iPhone 14 Pro Max (6.7-inch). Samsung’s M12 material set will be used to make the new panel. In the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4, this material set will be used for the first time for the display panel of a smartphone.
Samsung will provide displays for all four iPhone 14 variants, with 80 million screens reportedly ordered. Aside from producing panels for the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max, LG will also contribute to the iPhone 14. For the creation of these models, they will be using the RS-L material set. Using the previous RS-K set, LG was able to make iPhone 13 panels last year.
