This same hacker group was also behind a data breach at the Bureau of Customs earlier this year.

The hacking incident has since been resolved, with the DICT assuring the public that it is not alarming. The agency is now working to enhance the Senate’s cybersecurity measures.

This is not the first time the Philippine government has experienced hacking incidents this year. Aside from the current incident, PhilHealth, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and even the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) have been targeted. Additionally, the Philippine Coast Guard’s Facebook page was also compromised.
