DICT: Shoppers, Report Online Scammers

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is urging online shoppers to be vigilant and report scammers to prevent them from victimizing others.

DICT spokesperson Assistant Secretary Renato Paraiso emphasized the importance of reporting scams through the hotline 1326, established by the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

Paraiso explained that the hotline personnel will not only document the scams but also work with service providers and platform hosts to block the scammers’ websites and accounts. However, the primary goal is to hold scammers accountable by identifying individuals behind the scams.
