Spotify has announced a new feature in their platform, the “Verified by Spotify” badge.
Spotify claims that this new update aims to help users identify authentic artists on its platform, to improve transparency in the AI era.
The badge will appear on artist profiles and in search results, showing that an artist has been reviewed and meets the company’s standards for authenticity and trust.
According to Spotify, artists must meet several criteria to be verified. These include:
At launch, profiles mainly representing AI-generated artists are not eligible.
Spotify said verification will combine automated checks with human review.
The company added that more than 99% of artists that users actively search for are expected to be verified at launch, covering hundreds of thousands of profiles.
The Verified by Spotify badge rollout will happen over the coming weeks. Just keep in mind that not all artists will receive the badge immediately.
