The 80D DSLR camera targets those aspiring video makers and artists that would like to express themselves through their work and Canon empathizes with them through the improved camera sensors and autofocusing feature of the 80D.
The first thing that the camera has to offer is its 45-point all cross type AF system, which is completely higher than the 19-points of the 70D DSLR. The wide 40-points provides a better image composition and improves off-center subject’s perspective in a very impressive way. Another update is the newly developed 24.2 MP CMOS sensor that ensures high-quality still image and video outputs. It packs an ISO range of 100-16000 for still images and a 100-128000 ISO range for videos.
Together with the 80D camera, Canon also introduces a rather Autofocus-heavy lens, the EF-S18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens. This serves as the Canon 80D’s kit lens and improves the already-impressive AF system of the 80D A first to carry out a Nano USM in the Canon lens lineup, the lens alone is something to be cheered upon.
Pricing for the 80D is rather very mid-range though it’s still rather pricey. The body alone costs at around Php57K. On the other hand, if you’re gonna buy the complete set (with the USM lens), it’s gonna cost you around Php85K.
