Bank of the Philippine Islands has partnered with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. to launch a barcode-enabled cash deposit service.
Using the BPI mobile app, customers can generate a barcode through the “Partner Store Transactions” section under the More tab.
Users can choose whether to deposit money to their own account or to another BPI account, enter the amount, and present the barcode to a cashier at participating stores.
Transactions are free of charge and do not require a debit card, but the barcode must be used within one hour of generation.
BPI said customers can deposit up to PHP 15,000 per transaction, and up to five times per day, depending on store limits.
According to BPI, the feature is expected to be available in more than 1,000 Robinsons stores nationwide by the end of 2026.
