Black Shark, Xiaomi’s gaming branch, has officially announced Black Shark 4 and 4 Pro. Along with the announcement also came the details for its specifications. There are similarities as well as differences that are worth taking a look at.
When it comes to its screen, both versions of the phone will feature a 6.67” E4 AMOLED screen thanks to Samsung. It also has a 144Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The phone is expected to undergo intense gaming that is why the company also released a special “e-sports gloves” for gamers.
For the chipset, both gaming phones differ. The Black Shark 4 has a Snapdragon 870 while Pro would feature Snapdragon 888. It is also expected due to the fact that it is a gaming phone, heat dissipation can be a problem, that is why the Black Shark 4 Pro includes a two-layer liquid cooling system. The first layer is found just below the screen and it sandwiches the processor as well as other important parts with the second layer. This helps dissipate heat at 30% and can lower CPU’s temperature by 18C°.
Also, these cooling system helps a phone cool when charging. Both gaming phones will have a 4,500mAh battery capacity and a 120W fast charging system which can fully charge the phones within 14 minutes and 50 seconds.
Another major difference between the phones is that the vanilla version will have Xiaomi RAMDISK which makes the RAM act as disk storage to boost any particular app.
As for the camera, the Pro will have a 64MP main cam, an 8MP ultrawide, along an auxiliary 5MP sensor. For the Black Shark 4, there will be a 48MP main and a 20MP selfie camera which was present in the previous unit.
These gaming smartphones will also have pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons that can easily recognize with just a tap or a hard press. Two-mode switch buttons are also included on the right side while a fingerprint scanner/home screen button is in the middle. The volume rocker is placed on the left side of the gaming phone.
For its OS, both units will have an Android 11 based JOYUI 12.5 which features tons of resources for gaming as well as to lessen distractions from notifications, to fully focus on the game at hand.
As for colors, the Black Shark 4 will feature three colors namely; Magic Black, plain Black, and plain Silver. There are at least four memory configurations for the gaming phone which also offers different price tags.
