Imagine a future where our senior citizens effortlessly navigate the digital landscape to access essential services.

In a move toward this vision, a bill has been introduced in the House of Representatives, proposing the integration of senior citizen IDs into the user-friendly eGov PH Super App.

Senior Citizen partylist Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes, emphasizes the importance of embracing “digitalization and technological advancements” to bridge the gap between our elders and government services.

Recognizing that many seniors face challenges with digital interfaces, the bill aims to ensure that they are not excluded from crucial benefits and services.

The eGov PH Super App, a brainchild of the Department of Information and Communication Technology, serves as a one-stop-shop for various government transactions. It simplifies the process of obtaining documents, permits, identifications, and clearances for Filipinos worldwide.

Rep. Ordanes acknowledges that not all seniors have smartphones or internet access. For those without digital means, he suggests alternative options such as visiting local government offices or enrolling in the eLGU system for assistance, making the system inclusive for all.

The proposed bill seeks to streamline the senior citizen ID application process, making it user-friendly and efficient. Allowing seniors to swiftly verify their identity and eligibility for services through the digital platform.

Can we create a future where our senior citizens seamlessly access government services with just a tap?
