The biggest public private partnership (PPP) project of the Aquino administration has been announced on Tuesday. The Laguna Lakeshore Expressway and Dike Project (LLEDP) will be teamed up by four of the Philippines’ biggest names in business under the name Team Trident.
Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. (AEV), Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), Megaworld Corporation (MEG) and SM Prime Holdings, Inc. (SMPH) are the four companies that made a bid for the P123.8-billion project. The four companies will each have an effective equal share of 25 percent.
The project involves the construction of a 47-kilometer expressway and a 45-kilometer flood control dike, and the reclamation of around 700 hectares of land in the western part of Laguna Lake.
Trident Infrastructure and Development Corporation (TIDC) has filed the pre-qualification documents with the Department of Public Works and Highways for the bidding of the LLEDP.
The confederation combines the infrastructure expertise of the Aboitiz and Ayala groups and the reclamation and land development experience of Aboitiz, Ayala Land, Megaworld and SM.
