Design & Display

Red Magic 8 Pro wins design comparison. Its glass back and metal frame are high-quality (to be exact, it is aviation aluminum). Its front camera is hidden under the display, and its bezels are practically undetectable. Amazingly, the rear side has a translucent color choice. The Asus ROG Phone 6’s bigger bezels make it less stunning. Still, its RGB lighting and quality materials (glass for the back, covered by Gorilla Glass, and an aluminum frame) make it a fascinating phone. It has IPX4 water resistance.

The ASUS ROG Phone 6’s display is superior to that of the Red Magic 8 Pro when you’re looking at it. This device features a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 165 hertz. The RED MAGIC 8 Pro has a smaller 120Hz display but a bigger 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen. When comparing the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 used by the RED MAGIC 8 Pro with the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus used by the ASUS ROG Phone, the latter is the superior option.

Camera & Speakers

Both phones have good cameras, but the Asus ROG Phone 6 offers a few more perks. It contains a 50-megapixel primary sensor and two additional, higher-resolution sensors (one ultrawide, 13 megapixels, and one macro, 5 megapixels) for improved precision.

The ASUS ROG Phone 6 has stereo loudspeakers and two amplifiers so that you can enjoy the superior sound quality.

OS & Hardwares

While the ROG Phone 6 and Red Magic 8 Pro run Android, the ROG Phone 6 operates on Android 12, while the Red Magic 8 Pro runs Android 13 with the sixth edition of Redmagic OS. The Red Magic 8 Pro has the most cutting-edge hardware, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, developed using a 4 nm technology, provides the juice. Unlike nearly every other smartphone on the market, it also has a highly developed cooling mechanism that uses an actual cooling fan. On the other side, the ASUS ROG Phone 6 features a mobile platform powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor built on a 4nm process and paired with an Adreno 740 graphics processing unit. Storage and RAM on both devices may be expanded to a maximum of 512GB and 16GB, respectively.

Battery & Charging

The Asus ROG Phone 6 and the Red Magic 8 Pro batteries are also massive, clocking in at 6000 mAh. However, 80W rapid charging is only available on the Chinese version of the Nubia flagship. Like the ROG Phone, the international version supports fast charging at 65W.

Price & Availability

The cost of a RED MAGIC 8 Pro is $649. (approx. Php 25,616). The ASUS ROG Phone 6 usually sells for $649. However, in the Philippines, it costs PHP 47,995. Do you have a preferred option? Please comment and tell us what you think.
