This year sees Apple’s Watch line reintroduced with the 8 Series. The Series 8 Watch now includes a temperature sensor (two) to assist in monitoring your core body temperature. Changes in temperature as little as 0.1 degrees Celsius can be detected by the Watch Series 8 thanks to its continuous monitoring and dual-sensor architecture. Furthermore, Apple notes that a temperature sensor is critical for tracking a woman’s menstrual cycle.

The new 3-axis gyroscope and accelerometer in the Watch Series 8 are crucial to the device’s capacity to detect car crashes and the watch’s new temperature sensor. Apple is convince that the Watch Series 8 can identify many crash types. Considering the breadth of information that the Watch Series 8 can collect, Apple has implemented end-to-end encryption across the board within the wearable to protect user confidentiality.

The Watch Series 8 only offers 18 hours of battery life despite all its additional capabilities. But that may be increased to 36 hours with the help of the new Low Power mode. Low Power mode does this by turning off the screen’s Always On feature and the auto-tracking capabilities of the workout app. Mobile-enabled models can use a phone’s international roaming plan to connect to the internet abroad.

The price of the Series 8 Watch begins at Php 25,990. The Philippines will soon provide all of the episodes from the Watch 8 series.
