Apple Raises iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Battery Repair Costs This Month

Apple recently stated that it would be raising the cost of replacement batteries for several of its portable products, including the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook. And this modification has now lastly gone into effect.

Apple Inc., headquartered in Cupertino, California, revealed the increase in the price of new batteries back in February. These modifications would have impacted its best-selling mobile devices and computers, and the company is now updating prices worldwide. If accurate, this would be Apple’s second price increase for replacement iPhone batteries since September last year.

A new story claims that replacement battery costs will be implemented in a tiered pricing structure beginning this month. This update is for the US market and all marketplaces worldwide. Currently, the going rate for replacing the battery in any model in the iPhone 14 series is around 99 US Dollars. However, replacing the battery in an iPhone 5 with an iPhone 8 will increase to about $69 from $49 in the coming year.

Replacement batteries for the iPhone X through the iPhone 13 models will increase in price from $69 to $89, respectively. Meanwhile, a new battery for a MacBook will increase by as much as fifty dollars (from 199 dollars to 249 dollars for the Pro and basic versions) for the Air model. Finally, the expense of repairing iPads has increased, though only for some models. The price increase ranges from $20 for earlier Pro, mini, and Air models to a significant $80 increase for the essential iPad (from $99 to $199).
