The new 15-inch MacBook Air gives you more space to do the things you enjoy doing the most. Its speed is blisteringly quick despite its ultraportable style thanks to the supercharged M2 chip and the battery life that lasts for the entire day. And now, with the 13-inch model, there are even more compelling arguments to go for Apple’s Air.
Design
The latest MacBook Air also feels sturdy and something that’s very consciously built to last. The aluminum chassis is 100% recycled. Also, Apple hasn’t played around much with the color options either.
You get the usual Starlight, Midnight, Silver and Space Grey.
The 15-inch MacBook Air weighs 1.5 kg and is 0.45 inches, 13.40 inches, and 9.35 inches long, wide, and high. Apple says that the new MacBook Air is the “world’s thinnest” 15-inch laptop, and it is incredibly thin.
Display
With the addition of this 15.3-inch screen, Apple now has screens that range from 13 to 16 inches. It’s been a long time coming, but at least it has all its sizes now.
The Retina True Tone display on the 15-inch MacBook Air (M2) can be as bright as 500 nits. The screen space is big, and the edges are much smaller than on the previous MacBook Air M1 model.
A 1080P webcam in the display notch is bright enough for Zoom and Microsoft Teams chats. Full-screen mode removes the notch. It contains two Thunderbolt ports and a left-side MagSafe 3 charging port. Right is a lonely 3.5 mm jack. With all the extra room, the business should have added more communication ports.
Apple installed a six-speaker sound system due to the larger size. We’ve never heard a MacBook Air with better sound. Some AirPods have dynamic head tracking and Dolby Atmos for immersive Spatial Audio for movies and music.
Performance
There are options available starting with a 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage combination available or 8GB memory, 512GB storage. Configurable to 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB and configurable to 1TB or 2TB.
It doesn’t matter if you’re working together on a business plan, editing a film for a class assignment, or streaming a program while you shop online; the M2 chip will make everything you do go more quickly. Because the battery will last the entire day, you won’t need to bring the power adaptor with you.
When compared to a PC laptop equipped with an Intel Core i7 CPU, the MacBook Air offers performance that is up to two times as quick, web browsing that is up to 50 percent faster, and battery life that is up to 50 percent longer.
Price
There are two versions of the MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen that are being offered for sale as standard configurations:
- $1,299 or ₱71,000 for the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of solid-state storage.
- $1,499 or ₱82,000 for the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU, together with 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD.
