Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition is launching this September 12 – What to expect?

After the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 made its debut last month, it’s Apple’s time to shine with its flagship iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition as we’ve yet to find out the exact name. Expected to be released alongside are the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus or iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus depending on the final model names.

Moving on, as we’ve said that the iPhone 8 arrives this upcoming September 12, leaks just couldn’t stop. We’ve heard the rumors of the iPhone 8’s specs but this time, we would witness the arrival of the flagship itself.

Speaking of rumors, we’ve rounded up all the specifications that you could expect from Apple’s iPhone 8:

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone Edition

Although there are no official words yet from Apple, there are recent rumors claiming that the naming scheme will change. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus’ successors are told to be labeled as iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, respectively. If this holds true, the iPhone 8 will be called the iPhone Edition. We will only find out the final model names once Apple officially launched the trio.

Sleek OLED display with possibly vertical cameras

Of course, the curviness of the iPhone 8 wouldn’t be missed. More so, the flagship is expected to be refreshed with an edge-to-edge OLED display with True Tone technology and/or Ion-X glass. That said, tipsters also noted that the iPhone 8 might ditch the Touch ID and go for a more virtual home button approach.

Shown in the leaks is the iPhone 8 having a vertical dual camera. Not only that but the images reveal that the iPhone 8 could introduce a new color called Copper or Blush Gold aside from Black and White.

Faster processor and bigger memory

Equipped with Apple’s next-generation processor, the A11, people could expect that the iPhone 8 would offer a faster performance. Not only that, but the smartphone is expected to boast the latest iOS 11 as well with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of memory.

Face ID, AR capabilities, Pencil support, Wireless charging

To compete with the Galaxy Note 8, leaks have also claimed that the iPhone 8 would have an Apple pencil support as well as a facial recognition feature. Not only that but they expect the handset to model its Wireless charging capability too.

Furthermore, we know that the iOS 11 is all about AR. So hence people know that the iPhone 8’s camera would have a rear-facing 3D laser AR support. iPhone 8’s pricing, of course, is expected to cost around $999 and $1,200.
