Antigravity A1 Debuts in the Philippines

Antigravity has officially introduced the Antigravity A1 in the Philippines, marking the local debut of what it describes as the world’s first all-in-one 8K 360 drone.

The launch took place during a one-day pop-up showcase at BGC High Street on December 13, where members of the media, filmmakers, and content creators were invited for a first look at the new drone.

Antigravity A1

Designed with immersive capture in mind, the Antigravity A1 focuses on combining 360-degree video recording with an intuitive flying experience. Instead of emphasizing traditional piloting alone, the drone aims to let users focus more on movement and storytelling while recording everything around them.

According to Henry Hsu, Principal Consultant at Insta360, the A1 reflects Antigravity’s goal of developing products based on how creators actually use them. He noted that the drone introduces a different way to experience flight, with an emphasis on immersion and ease of use rather than complex controls.

Also, unlike conventional drones that rely mainly on handheld controllers and screens, the Antigravity A1 is built around a headset-first approach.

The drone works with Vision Goggles and a Grip Controller, allowing users to steer using natural hand movements through a point-to-fly control system. This setup is designed to make flying more accessible, especially for beginners.

For more experienced users, traditional FPV controls are also available. Combined with Micro-OLED displays and head tracking.

Moreover, the Antigravity A1 uses a dual-lens camera system capable of recording 8K 360-degree video, capturing the entire environment in a single flight. This allows creators to choose their preferred angles during editing instead of adjusting camera direction mid-flight.

Built-in stabilization helps keep footage smooth, even during faster or more complex movements, giving users more flexibility when shooting aerial content.

Weighing 249 grams, the Antigravity A1 falls under sub-250g drone regulations in many regions, which can make it easier to transport and operate. Despite its compact size, it offers up to 24 minutes of flight time, with optional batteries available for longer use.

The drone also features a retractable landing gear that protects the camera lenses during takeoff and landing while keeping them out of view during flight.

During the event, filmmaker Sid Maderazo conducted the first live demonstration flight of the Antigravity A1 in the Philippines.

Attendees were able to see how the drone performs in real-world conditions, with the demo highlighting its 360 capture capabilities and motion-based controls.
