AMD has launched its latest computer processor the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The new processor aims to bring enhanced performance for gamers.
The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is based on the “Zen 5” architecture and utilizes the 2nd Gen AMD 3D V-Cache technology.
The desktop processor boasts 8 cores and 16 threads, with a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz, reaching up to 5.2 GHz in boost mode.
Other hardware specs include 104MB (96MB L3 and 8MB L1+L2) total cache, and 120W Thermal Design Power (TDP).
Moreover, the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D features 64MB cache memory which has been moved beneath the processor, bringing the core complex die (CCD) closer to the cooling solution in order to keep the “Zen 5” cores cooler. According to the company, this results in high clock rates, which can improve gaming performance by up to 8% on average compared to previous generation and up to 20% faster than the competition.
The change in placement also allows for extreme overclocking of the processor. It is also the first X3D processor to be fully unlocked, which lets users to fully grasp its full potential.
Users can expect an 8% increase in frames per second (FPS) compared to previous models in certain games. The processor also enables smoother gameplay with enhanced minimum frame rates.
With the help of Saber Interactive and Activision, AMD has worked with game developers to optimize performance on its X3D processors, resulting in better gameplay in games like Call of Duty and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.
The new AMD Ryzen 9800X3D desktop processor is priced at USD 479 (~PHP 27,956) and will be available globally on November 7, 2024.
