Aside from the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Redmi K30 Ultra was served as well with not much fanfare. But sleeping on the latest Redmi phone would be absurd, as you’re getting incredible specs for not a whole lot of money. The Redmi K30 Ultra starts at a crazy CNY 1999(~P14,000) for the 6GB/128GB model. See the price breakdown below:
The footprint, as well as the color finish of K30 Ultra, resembles the rest of the K30 series. This time, it comes in Moonlight White, Midnight Black, Mint Green. The screen is still the same, with 6.67″ diagonal size but of AMOLED (not Super AMOLED). The biggest difference, however, is the inclusion of a 120Hz refresh rate. This feature is typically reserved for phones above P20,000, but Xiaomi is creating something special here.
At the core is the Dimensity 1000+, which is the overclocked version of the Dimensity 1000. Like the Snapdragon 865+, it fully supports 5G connectivity. The SoC is the main reason why Xiaomi priced the K30 Ultra competitively, with little-to-no performance compromise. With most phones today plenty powerful to support multiyear of usage, we say the MediaTek chipset is a nice alternative to keep the price affordable.
As for the rest of the specs, K30 Ultra features 64MP quad-cameras with up to 4K@30fps video recording, 20MP pop-up selfie, stereo speakers with an audio jack, under-display fingerprint scanner, 4500mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and Wi-Fi 6.
Redmi K30 Ultra will start selling on August 14 in China.
