Lenovo’s 2-in-1 business laptop has been announced at the CES 2020 event with a starting price of $1599 or around P82K when roughly converted to Philippine peso. While the price has been unveiled already, the specific month of release is vague. Expect the device to launch anytime this year.
The company’s newest ThinkPad hybrid laptop features the all-about-business CNC Iron Gray aluminum design and finish. Additionally, the body is MIL-SPEC tested. Thanks to the 2-in-1 design, the hinge can flip up to 360 degrees. It’s also a lightweight companion, weighing 3 pounds only. The display is measured 14″ sporting FHD resolution. The basic panel is rated 400nits but the special privacy screen panel can go up to 500nits. And while you do have the option to go for a 1440p display, the peak brightness goes down to 300nits. But if you want it all, the 4K panel supports Dolby Vision and HDR400 with up to 500nits of brightness.
Given the ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5 is a business laptop, it features IR webcam with privacy shutter, fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, and dTPM 2.0 security chip. It’s also Intel Athena certified which means the 51Wh battery should last longer. The company claims between 10 to 15 hours of usage. For the full specs, check the table below.
