The LG G7 ThinQ, LG’s newest flagship smartphone, launched earlier this month in New York City. The same goes for the OnePlus 6 which was also launched this May. The two are known to be powered by the Snapdragon 845 as well as pride themselves on their camera capability. With the two devices having a lot of similarities on hardware specs, which of the two should you really buy? We’ll find out in this specs comparison.
OnePlus 6 pros over LG G7 ThinQ
LG G7 ThinQ pros over OnePlus 6
The OnePlus 6 features a 6.28″ Full Optic Full HD+ display which is larger than the LG G7 ThinQ’s 6.1″ IPS LCD display. Although the OnePlus 6 has a larger screen, the LG G7 ThinQ has a higher resolution. In terms of protection, both smartphones sport the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Under the hood, the two share a lot of similarities. Both seem to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 along with an Adreno 630 GPU. Their difference lies in storage variants. The OnePlus 6 offers a variant with an 8GB RAM and an internal storage of 256GB whereas the LG G7 ThinQ only has two storage variants – 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage.
In terms of their camera setup, both devices seem to have dual rear cameras. The OnePlus 6 comes with 20 MP + 16 MP rear camera with a 16MP selfie snapper. Meanwhile, the LG G7 ThinQ has dual 16MP + 16MP rear cameras along with an 8MP front camera. If we’re talking about the specs, the OnePlus 6 clearly wins here. Although if we look at both devices’ camera features, we would have to give it the LG G7 ThinQ. The latter’s main camera includes Digital Zoom, Optical Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Simultaneous HD video, and image recording. Of course, we would still have to make a camera comparison between the two to confirm which is better.
For security, both have a fingerprint scanner and Face Unlock feature. The scanner is located at the rear part of the OnePlus 6 smartphone similar with the LG G7 ThinQ. Both smartphones are water-resistant as well.
Although the OnePlus 6 doesn’t have an amazing battery capacity, it’s still larger than the LG G7 ThinQ. The OnePlus device is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery and supported by Fast battery charging (5V 4A 20W). On the other hand, the LG G7 ThinQ contains a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
Additional features of the LG G7 ThinQ includes a DTS-X sound with 3D surround sound providing its user with a more immersive music experience by letting them pick where they want the sound to come from – in front of you, side-to-side, or a “wide” option.
After reading the similarities and differences between both devices, which of the two do you prefer more?
