vivo has confirmed that it will officially unveil OriginOS 7.0 on September 16.
The OriginOS 7.0 update will be based on Android 17 and will introduce changes to the user interface, system performance, and storage management.
According to vivo’s preview, OriginOS 7.0 will feature a redesigned interface with liquid glass-inspired elements, updated animations and lighting effects, and new Liquid Themes for the lock screen.
vivo is also making changes to memory management.
Another new feature is Storage Compression 2.0. According to vivo, the technology can free up to 20GB of additional storage on a device with 256GB of storage.
The company also reports a 14% improvement in graphics rendering, up to 12% faster app startup times, and a 19% improvement in page-switching response speeds. It claims that power consumption during UI animations and screen rendering can be reduced by around 20%.
vivo is expected to announce the supported devices and public rollout schedule for OriginOS 7.0 during the September 16 event. Stay tuned.
