
As scheduled, Asus has officially released the Asus ZenFone 5 series in the Philippines. The series includes the ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z, and the ZenFone 5Q, also known as the ZenFone 5 Lite. The company revealed the series during the Mobile World Congress 2018.
The main handset of the series, the ZenFone 5, features a 6.2″ FHD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by the Snapdragon 636 along with Adreno’s 509 GPU, and two variants of RAM – 4/6GB. The device also contains 3,300mAh battery and is run on Android 8.0 Oreo and ZenUI 5.0.
As for the ZenFone 5Z, the smartphone also features a 6.2″ FHD screen with an aspect ratio of 18.7:9 as well as an IPS display. It contains the Snapdragon 845 along with Adreno’s 630 GPU, and three variants of RAM – 4/6/8GB, and three variants of storage – 64/128/256GB. The device is powered by a 3,300mAh battery and runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and ZenUI 5.0. The Philippines will only sell the 6GB/128GB variant of the device.
The ZenFone 5Q is a more affordable version of the ZenFone 5. It features a 6″ FHD display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, it has the Snapdragon 630 along with Adreno 508 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and an internal storage of 64GB. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Oreo and ZenUI 5.0 and is powered by a 3,300mAh battery.
The ZenFone 5 is priced at Php 19,995 whereas the more upgraded ZenFone 5Z is priced at Php 29,995. Meanwhile, the ZenFone 5Q will cost Php 16,995. The ZenFone 5 and 5Q are already available in Philippine stores. Unfortunately, the ZenFone 5Z will be available by June or July.
Another smartphone called the ZenFone Max M1, launched along with the ZenFone 5 series. The device is priced at Php 8,995.
