The Chinese manufacturer, OPPO, unveiled their latest flagship that may or may not arrive to Philippine shores.
The much anticipated OPPO R9s, the follow up to the crazy thin OPPO R7, has just been unveiled.
We were given exclusive access to get a glimpse of the Limited Edition Chinese New Year OPPO R9s to review.
Emulating all the design cues of the iPhone 7, you can easily mistake this R9s as the (RED) version of the Apple headliner.
The entire construction of the OPPO R9s is made of metal with slivers of cutouts that make antenna lines seem like a part of the design.
Apart from the left flushed camera beside the dual tone LED flash, the OPPO logo sits squarely at the middle.
The design rounds out towards the front panel to meet the Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The 5.5inch AMOLED display will be the first thing to greet you upon powering up. Colors are eye popping and blacks show deep blacks.
Viewing angles are also great specially with the 2.5D curvature of the glass panel.
Using the phone under broad daylight will also not be a problem.
The OPPO R9s will feature a 16MP camera for both the rear facing shooter as well as the front facing camera.
The main setup will be set at f1.7 aperture and the selfie camera is set at f2.0.
Video taking will max out at 4K resolution but the absence of Optical Image Stabilization may be a bummer.
The R9s will be powered by a 3010mAh battery supporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz paired with Adreno 506 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage.
If competing models are any indication then the OPPO R9s will be more than capable at lasting throughout a good day.
Should you find the need to recharge a necessity, then the proprietary VOOC Charging should be able to give you hours of battery life in just a few minutes of being plugged in.
The R9s is expected come in gold, black, and rose gold apart from the Limited Edition Red.
There is no official word as to how much will this sexy phone retail for let alone the limited edition Red.
