How to Customize a Samsung Phone’s Notification Sounds

Don’t like your Samsung Galaxy phone’s default notification sound? If so, you may change the tone of all your Samsung phone’s alerts. While there are several tone selections available, you may also add your own tone to the list. We’ll demonstrate how.

Customize the Sound for All Notifications

To change the universal notification tone on your Samsung Galaxy phone, go to Settings.
Select Sounds and Vibration > Notification Sound from the Settings menu.

All of Samsung’s notification tones are available on the “Notification Sound” tab. Select the one you want to use by tapping it.

Once you’ve chosen a tone, your phone will use it for all your future notifications.

Customize the Notification Sound for a Specific App

Launch Settings on your Galaxy phone to adjust the notification sound for a single app while preserving the default tone for all other apps.
Scroll down under Settings and select “Apps.”

Select an app from the “Apps” page to change its notification tone.

Select Notifications > Notification Categories from the app’s main page.

Choose a notification type. These may differ depending on the app you select.

Tap “Sound.”

You’ll now see a list of tones from which to choose. Choose the one you want to use for your notification type.

Add a Custom Notification Sound

If you don’t like Samsung’s notification sound selections, you may use your own tone files.

On begin, download and store your preferred tone to your phone. Then, navigate to the folder that contains that tone.
Tap and hold the tone file, then select “Copy” from the bottom bar.

Navigate to the “Notifications” folder on your phone’s internal storage. Choose “Copy Here” from the bottom bar.
