Data Lake Inc. to Bring Starlink to the Philippines

It has been revealed that Data Lake Inc., a company founded by Henry Sy Jr. and entrepreneur Anthony Almeda, will be bringing the satellite broadband service Starlink.

Data Lake has confirmed in a statement that it will be the first Starlink integrator in the nation and Southeast Asia. As of now, Starlink provides its services in more than 40 different nations.

It will be difficult for Data Lake to connect the entire Philippines because, according to Almeda, significant infrastructure development is required. Starlink can meet this demand. “With the largest constellation of satellites in orbit, Starlink is a flexible service uniquely capable of providing high bandwidth, reliable internet to the country. This is crucial particularly with communications in times of natural calamities,”, according to Almeda.

Recall that Starlink expects to offer its services in the Philippines by the end of 2022, and DICT intends to offer free internet access in rural areas utilizing Starlink’s services.
