Netflix Now Supports Filipino Subtitles and Dub

When Netflix started in the Philippines six years ago, subscribers could watch thousands of TV shows and movies in their original language, or they could watch them with English subtitles or dubs. As more people signed up for Netflix’s streaming service over time, the company realized it needed to offer a user interface in the local language.

Because of this, Netflix will have a user interface (UI) in Filipino starting today.

This new feature allows subscribers to navigate the UI, read titles and synopses, and watch shows and movies with Filipino subtitles and dubbing. Want to watch Stranger Things again, but this time with subtitles in your language? Well, it’s possible since you can now play this fan-favorite game in the Filipino language.

Want to know what else you can play with this new feature? This weekend, use the Filipino UI setting to watch a lot of Emily in Paris, You, and The Queen’s Gambit, to name a few, and enjoy entertainment in a very local way.

Netflix users should be able to choose genre, format, and language. Malobika Banerji, Netflix Material Director for Southeast Asia, said, “We are delighted that our Filipino members will now have the option to enjoy their favorite Netflix content from all over the world with Filipino subtitles and dubbing.”

The Filipino UI gives members more freedom because they can change their profile language to Filipino in the “Manage Profiles” section of their desktop, TV, or mobile browsers. All parts of the Netflix experience are available in Filipino on all devices, from becoming a member to searching to paying.

Each Netflix account can have up to five different profiles, and each can choose its language setting. Are you watching Netflix in a foreign country or part of the world? Don’t worry. Members outside of the Philippines can also use the Filipino UI feature.
