Tablet sales were so strong that even HTC seemed to be aimed at emerging markets. The HTC A101, the company’s latest smartphone release, was introduced to the world without much publicity.
While the HTC A101 will not be a direct rival to Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S, there is still a good chance that it will appeal to some people, especially those looking for a mid-range tablet.
On the other hand, the A101 is equipped with an octa-core processor based on the UNISOC T618. Although it is probably not the most powerful chip on the market, it does at least come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage space.
There is a substantial 10-inch IPS screen on the front of the device, and the display’s resolution is an exceptional FHD+.
Although the bezels are uniform in size, they are noticeably thick. At the front, we find a 5-megapixel selfie camera, joined by a dual-camera setup on the back. However, the latter only contains a 2-megapixel depth sensor. As for the primary camera, it is a sharper 13-megapixel model.
It is powered by a decent battery with a capacity of 7,000mAh. Despite having a USB Type-C port, the charging capability of the device is a little disappointing due to its slow 10W charging speed.
It is expected that the HTC A101 will be available for sale in Russia at ₽19,890 (₱17,963 as of July 2022). There is no official word about whether or not it will come to more countries in the future.
