Voltai, which operates under 1882 Energy Ventures, a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation, has introduced the AP01.
The AP01 is the first two-wheeled electric vehicle with a battery swapping system designed for commercial use in the Philippines.
The swapping system allows riders to quickly replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one, reducing downtime compared to traditional charging.
It aims to provide fleet operators, such as those in logistics, delivery, and ride-hailing, with a cost-effective mobility solution while lowering fuel and maintenance expenses.
As an electric vehicle, the AP01 also supports the shift toward cleaner and more sustainable urban transport.
Voltai has partnered with Cleanfuel and MyTown to install 15 battery swapping stations across Metro Manila.
