YouTube has added background play and offline downloads to its Premium Lite subscription.
The update allows Premium Lite subscribers to watch most videos without ads, save videos for offline viewing, and play videos in the background while using other apps.
According to YouTube’s official blog, the changes follow user feedback requesting these features.
For full access to all videos, including YouTube Music content, ad-free, offline, and in the background, the regular YouTube Premium subscription is still available.
In the Philippines, YouTube Premium Lite is available for PHP109 per month.
The new background play and download features, however, have not yet been rolled out in the Philippines.
