Meta, has introduced a new ad-free subscription option. This move is in response to recent EU regulations that now require companies to offer users the choice to opt out of ads.
Here’s the scoop! For a monthly fee of €9.99 (approximately PHP600) when signing up on the web, or €12.99 (around PHP780) if you choose to subscribe through the Android or iOS apps, you can enjoy a social media experience without those pesky ads. The slight price difference is due to additional fees imposed by Google and Apple on their respective mobile platforms.
The best part is that with this single subscription, you’ll be able to remove ads from both your Facebook and Instagram accounts linked to your Accounts Center.
It’s a convenient, all-in-one solution. But do keep in mind, starting from March 1, 2024, there will be a small extra cost of €6/month (PHP360) when subscribing through the web or €8/month (PHP480) via iOS and Android for each additional account you add to your Accounts Center.
But wait, there’s more! This ad-free subscription doesn’t just banish ads; it also puts a stop to Meta’s tracking for advertising purposes. So, if you’re concerned about your online privacy, this option is a win-win.
For now, this subscription is exclusively available in the European Union, but Meta is considering expanding it to other regions if similar regulations are put into place.
