We have Xiaomi‘s latest offering in the smartwatch market, the Xiaomi Watch S4. It’s a classy smartwatch with interchangeable bezels.
But the question is, what changes have they made to make this a better option than last year’s Watch S3? Let’s dive in.
Just like last year, the Xiaomi Watch S4 still features the same round dial. It sports an aluminum alloy frame with a stainless steel bezel.
Surprisingly, it weighs in at just 44.5g, despite its hefty form factor with a 12mm thickness. The color variant we have is Rainbow, and compared to black, this one is livelier, thanks to the subtle pop of colors around the bezel and strap.
Speaking of the strap, the Rainbow variant comes with a woven nylon strap, which feels comfortable on the wrist. Much like the bezels, the strap is also interchangeable for added personalization. Beneath the watch head, you’ll find the heart rate sensor and loudspeaker holes.
Now, let’s talk about one of the highlights of this watch, the display. The Xiaomi Watch S4 boasts a 1.43″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 466×466, paired with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Outdoors, you won’t have trouble viewing the display, as it has a peak brightness of 2000 nits, offering exceptional clarity even under direct sunlight. You also don’t need to worry about the durability of the display since it’s equipped with scratch and drop-proof glass. The default watch face looks great and complements the overall design.
As for the software, the Xiaomi Watch S4 runs on HyperOS 2.0, and pairing it is easy via the Xiaomi Mi Health App.
It’s compatible with both iOS and Android devices, but for the best experience, we recommend connecting it to a Xiaomi device. You’ll have access to notifications, the ability to accept calls through the watch, and all the usual features for day-to-day use.
One of the new features on the watch is the rotating crown, which complements the overall design and aesthetic. You can use it to easily navigate the display or to turn on the watch if you have the raise-to-wake feature turned off.
The watch also includes a sleep tracking feature that lets you monitor different sleep stages. As for health tracking, it offers insights based on data gathered from the watch, including heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen readings.
For fitness enthusiasts, the Xiaomi Watch S4 supports up to 150 workout modes. While it tracks activity automatically, manually setting it up yields better results.
In terms of battery, the Xiaomi Watch S4 is equipped with a 486mAh battery, which is more than enough.
According to Xiaomi, it offers up to two weeks of battery life, but based on our experience, if you’re actively using its monitoring features, you’ll get about 5 days of battery life before needing a recharge.
Finally, the price, the Xiaomi Watch S4 is priced at PHP7,799, making it a solid option that strikes a good balance between functionality and fashion.
It’s a premium watch that looks more expensive than it actually is. While the Xiaomi Watch S4 is undoubtedly one of the best-looking watches in this price range, there are other options that offer more advanced features.
