Xiaomi Auto addressed user questions about their Xiaomi SU7 electric car. The company highlighted the SU7’s focus on long trips with its new Energy-Saver Mode.
When your range drops below 50 km, the car suggests switching to this mode to extend battery life. You can also choose to turn the mode on or off yourself.
Energy-Saver Mode reduces power use by adjusting certain functions. The car’s speed is capped at 90 km/h, and acceleration becomes more gradual. The air conditioning doesn’t work as hard either. Other luxury features like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and heated mirrors also get disabled.
To save even more energy, the mode turns off smart driving aids, parking features, and in-car entertainment, as well as the mini fridge. But don’t worry! The mode switches off automatically once your range goes back above 300 km. You can also bypass the speed limit briefly if needed.
The SU7 is equipped with a camera that keeps an eye on the driver for signs of fatigue or distraction, such as closed eyes or phone use.
If the system spots these signs, it will give you a voice warning and an on-screen reminder to pay attention to driving. Xiaomi promises all analysis stays local within the vehicle, and no image data is stored or sent outside. If you don’t need the driver reminder, you can turn it off through the car’s settings.
