
Xiaomi has launched their latest entry-level smartphones, the Redmi 6 and 6A, here in the Philippines! The event was held in The Marquee, Shangri-La Hotel. According to Xiaomi, these smartphones are both entry level smartphone kings.
The Redmi 6 and 6A features a 5.45″ HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The devices bear a brushed metallic finish and curved edges. The handsets are also available in two colors — Black and Grey, but as for the Redmi 6, it is also available in the color, Blue. Their fingerprint scanner is located at the back of the smartphone.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6A is powered by the Helio A22 along with a quad-core processor clocked up to 2.0 GHz. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6 is powered by the Helio P22 with an octa-core processor clocked up to 2.2 GHz. In regards to the two smartphones’ storage, the Redmi 6A contains 2GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16/32GB. On the other hand, the Redmi 6 has 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage.
As for their camera setup, unlike the Redmi 6A, the Redmi 6 sports a dual rear camera. The Redmi 6 features 12MP + 5MP AI dual camera. It also contains AI Portrait and Beautify. The device has a 5MP front camera as well. Meanwhile, the Redmi 6A features a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and a 5MP front snapper with AI Portrait mode and Beautify.
The Redmi 6A is priced depending on its variants. The 2GB RAM + 16GB variant will be priced at Php 5,290 and the 2GB RAM + 32GB variant will be priced at Php 5,990. On the other hand, the Redmi 6 is retailed at Php 7,490 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB and Php 8,990 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB. The handsets will be available on July 23, 2018, on their official online and Shopee store.
