
Xiaomi finally launched the Xiaomi Mi 8 as its latest flagship smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. It is the successor of last year’s Mi 6. Apart from that, the company also announced the special edition Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 houses a 6.21-inch FHD+ S-AMOLED display with 2248 x 1080 resolution. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 88.5 percent. As mentioned, this smartphone receives power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. It comes in three models – 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB or 256GB internal storage.
Going to the camera department, it comes with 12MP + 12MP AI dual rear camera with dual-pixel AF, 4-axis OIS, and AI scene detection. The secondary camera as the telephoto sensor. The primary camera is a IMX363 by Sony, while the secondary is S5K3M3 from Samsung. For taking selfies, it comes with a 20MP AI front snapper.
The Mi 8 even got a DxOMark score of 99.
For the connectivity, it supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Infrared Face Unlock, and Dual frequency GPS. In addition, the Xiaomi Mi 8 is the world’s first smartphone to come with dual-GPS.
The 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB models of the Xiaomi Mi 8 are priced at 2,699 Yuan or aorund $421, 2,999 Yuan or around $468, and 3,299 Yuan, which is around $515 respectively. The pre-order for this smartphone starts today in China and shipment will begin on June 5.
