Among the Xiaomi Mi 8 lineup, the Explorer Edition is obviously the mightiest version with premium specs and translucent back panel. However, it seems that the Chinese manufacturer is working on an affordable and toned down version of the phone.

- Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer to arrive with 8GB RAM & Snapdragon 845
Appeared on TENAA, its listing shows the phone’s RAM configurations with 4GB/6GB/8GB. Aside from that, design and display are still the same except for some features which may be removed to meet its affordability.
Its notch may not be housing a 3D face scanner and the IR face recognition system. Still, there’s no fingerprint scanner which could still be placed under-display.
Just like the premium version, it may still have the 6.21-inch display, Snapdragon 845 chipset and the dual 12MP camera paired with 20MP selfie snapper.
As of now, the product name is not yet disclosed. We’ll still have to wait to the official announcement from Xiaomi.
