Just like what we reported earlier, Xiaomi has introduced its 8K TV with a built-in 5G modem alongside a 4K TV. Available starting today for the 82″ Mi TV Lux 4K, it has a price of CNY9,999(~Php71,000). On the other end, the 82″ Mi TV Lux Pro 8K will go on sale on October 21 for CNY49,999(~Php355,000). Both come equipped with mini-LED, MEMC motion compensation technology for smoother visual motions, and support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. As for their differences, here’s what to expect.
The Mi TV Lux 82″ 4K features Quantum Dot technology that allows it to achieve 93% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1000 nits peak brightness, and a staggering 1400000:1 contrast ratio from the 960 segmented backlight display. It supports Wi-Fi ac connection as well as Bluetooth 5. At the core is MIUI TV 3.0, with Xiao AI 3.0 capable of far-file voice recognition. The 6-unit speaker features two 12.5W left and right channels and two 15W surround channels.
The Mi TV Lux Pro 82″ takes everything up a notch with its 8K resolution display. Using the same mini-LED technology, the panel doubles the peak brightness to 2000 nits while covering 98% DCI-P3. Thanks to the ARM’s Novatek 72685 chipset, there’s a built-in 5G modem here already. There are three HDMI 2.1 ports as well, but with the one capable of 8K output. The audio experience gets upgraded as well, with retractable 8-unit speakers covering mid, high, and low frequencies.
