X Corp. has announced a new app called XChat, a private messaging service integrated with the X platform.
According to X, XChat is designed for direct conversations without ads or tracking and uses end-to-end encryption.
Users can sign in with their existing X account, allowing them to connect with their current network without needing invites or sharing their phone number.
In terms of privacy, X Corp. says the app may collect and link certain data to users, including contact information, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics.
Privacy practices may vary depending on how the app is used. However, XChat has not yet listed any supported accessibility features.
As of now, XChat has a file size of 179.2MB and is available for download on iOS. It requires iOS 26.0 or later, and supports English and over 45 other languages.
