But he believes in perfect timing and so he came up with a brilliant idea of videotaping himself from January 8, 2014 to January 8, 2015 while holding a whiteboard with random messages asking Jennifer, to marry him.
Those moments were captured in a 15-minute video, which went viral all over the web.
For 365 days, Smith could be seen holding a whiteboard with random messages while in his car, or in his kitchen cooking, while on work, playing basketball, while brushing teeth and upon waking up in the morning on his bed.
And on the last day, Smith surprised Jennifer while taking vacation in Aruba on her birthday where he formally asked her to marry him. And Jennifer said yes.
