After teasing it a few days ago, vivo has officially brought the latest flagship X80 series of smartphones to the Philippines. It consists of the vivo X80 and X80 Pro. This new series is the successor to the “Imagery Master” X70 lineup.
One of the highlights of both models is the ZEISS Optics with all lenses meeting ZEISS T* Coating standards. This allows users to capture true colored photos. The collaboration between ZEISS also brings features such as the ZEISS Super Night Camera, ZEISS Cinematic Video capabilities, and ZEISS Anamorphic film lenses which create oval flares in videos and photos in film-standard 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
The vivo X80 series also debuts a custom chip especially conceptualized and created by vivo, the vivo V1+ Chip. According to vivo, this exclusive chip is designed to bring imaging, display, and game graphics on smartphones to new heights. The vivo V1+ Chip is able to enhance night video denoising and HDR performance, as well as boost the smartphones’ performance.
For specs the vanilla vivo X80 sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ E4 AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh, up to 1300 nits brightness, HDR10+, DisplayMate A+ certification, a 32MP centered-punch-hole selfie camera, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Inside, it is powered by the flagship 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 9000 5G processor, paired with 12GB of LPDR5 RAM (+ 4GB extended RAM), 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and a 4,500mAh battery capacity with 80W fast charging. There’s also the GPU Fusion technology to further enhance its gaming capabilities.
The smartphone is also equipped with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP Sony IMX866 RGBW main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 12MP 50mm 2X portrait lens.
The vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, boasts a 6.78-inch QHD+ E5 AMOLED LTPO screen with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate, a 32MP punch-hole selfie shooter, and a large-area ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor.
Under the hood, it comes with the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 12GB of LPDR5 RAM (+ 4GB extended RAM), and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also packs a 4,700mAh battery with 80W fast charging and 50W wireless charging support.
For photography, it sports a quad-rear camera configuration with a 50MP Samsung GNV primary sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide shooter, a 12MP 50mm 2X portrait module, and an 8MP 5X periscope telephoto lens. It also has a Gimbal Portrait Camera for stability.
