Last March, Samsung released their most awaited flagship smartphones, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+, leaving a nice impression particularly with the camera prowess, now Vivo also unveiled the Vivo NEX and Vivo NEX S showing a borderless screen with a pop-up front-facing camera.

The Vivo NEX S features a larger screen with 6.59-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2316 pixels and an 86.0% screen-to-body ratio which makes it a borderless smartphone. On another hand, Samsung Galaxy S9+ comes with a 6.2-inch WQHD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Galaxy S9’s measurements are 158.1 x 73.8 x 8.5mm weighing 189g while Vivo NEX S measures 162 x 77 x 8 mm weighing 199g.
Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy S9+ offers a variant of chipset, GPU, memory depending on the area. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) they offer Exynos 9810 Octa, Mali-G72 MP18 while USA/Latin America (LATAM) Samsung offers Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, Adreno 630, 128 GB, 6 GB RAM and 64/128/256 GB, 6 GB RAM in China. While Vivo NEX S is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 along with Adreno 630 which also carries 8GB of RAM + 128GB/256GB storage. In terms of operating system, Vivo NEX S runs an Android 8.1 Oreo while Galaxy S9 runs Android 8.0 Oreo.
Looking through the spec sheet, it’s noticeable that Samsung Galaxy S9 really has a superior camera, carry their tagline: “The Camera. Re-Imagined.” it comes with dual 12MP + 12MP camera lens with an 8MP front-facing camera. The Vivo NEX S also got something innovative to offer with their pop up 8MP front-facing camera to completely make their flagship borderless. In addition to this is their dual 12MP + 5MP rear camera lens.
