List of Upcoming Android smartphones with Snapdragon 855 SoC

While Huawei’s Kirin 980 and Apple’s A12 Bionic chipsets have taken the lead on the 7nm node availability, we will soon see Qualcomm’s own NPU-supported chipset around early next year. For now, here are the upcoming Snapdragon 855 CPU Android phones.

  1. Samsung Galaxy S10 – expected to be released at MWC on Feb-Mar 2019.
  2. LG G8 – the LG G7 released around May so expect the same date or earlier.
  3. OnePlus 7 – Pete Lau always releases their first flagship iteration around July.
  4. HTC U13+ – while rumors are already surfacing for the upcoming HTC flagship, we can expect an official release around May.

Samsung almost always gets the first dibs to newly released flagship chipset given the month they release their flagship smartphones. Followed by LG then OnePlus. Despite the decline on market share and profit, HTC continues to stir something up with a Snapdragon 855 model next year. Rumor has it that OPPO will be releasing an 855-powered handset but no words yet on what model.

A bit of insight into the upcoming Snapdragon 855  — it seems like it’s also going to be released under the Snapdragon 8150 moniker with no difference in specs. It’s also the first to get NPU support from a Qualcomm flagship chipset along with the X50 modem allowing for 5G support. Expect Qualcomm to officially release the chipset this December.
