2016 has finally arrived, though we still couldn’t forget some of the highlights of 2015, one, in particular, is our mutual successor VS predecessor review comparisons. In regards to that, we figured to bring back the most memorable successor VS predecessor full review comparisons of 2015.

Samsung Galaxy A8 VS A7
The Samsung Galaxy A8 VS A7 review comparison paired off both A-series veterans and it was quite of a show. We highlighted a few similarities on both handset’s design, such as the very iconic A-series metal construction, as well as a few deficiencies that the A8 had over the predecessor A7, such as better camera performance and benchmark ratings. In the end, we were able to determine that the relatively newer A8 was the better buy.
Sony Xperia C5 Ultra VS C4
This battle was done a bit earlier this year, it was August in fact. However, the highlight of the comparison was more inclined to purchasing, with us, determining if the upgrade to C5 Ultra would be worthwhile. A few points we pointed out on this comparison is the near-zero bezels improvement of the C5 Ultra, which gave the latter a better feel design-wise. We also featured the superior camera outputs of the Xperia C5 Ultra, in comparison to its predecessor, which all-in-all gave us the Sony Xperia C5 Ultra the benefit of the doubt. Totally worth the upgrade.
LG G3 VS G4
Our comparison for the LG G3 VS G4 at that time was a bit different than our usual, take note we made this on June. However, the highlight of the comparison was simple, to compare the improvements on the G4 over its predecessor. One thing for sure, though, the camera department was the most interesting part. Camera quality made a huge leap from the decent G3 sensors to the more advanced G4 sensors. We can’t help but to be amazed of the outputs delivered by the G4 back then and how it delivered very strong colours and excellently vibrant outputs.
Sony Xperia M5 VS M4 Aqua
As soon as we got our hands on the then newly launched mid-ranger Xperia M5, we really wanted to pair it up with its predecessor, and so we did. We were surprised at first glance that design was a bit similar by looking at both handsets, however, a few noticeable changes we’re seen and we thought it was for the better. A few, in particular, are their buttons and feature positioning, front cam sensor size and the glossy oleophobic coating on the M5. Both devices performed well, but the 4K UHD shooting of the Xperia M5 was surely something to see, especially in HDR mode.
OnePlus 2 VS One
Both handsets were exceptional at their own rights though this was one of the instances that the successor is better than its predecessor. We highlighted the changes on the OnePlus 2 and it turns out, it had few, such as the back cover, which was pretty much one of the main similarities of both handsets. The display was pretty much the same as well, with the little-to-no difference in quality and clearness. However in the performance and shooting department is where the changes showed. In the camera department, the OnePlus 2 dominated over its predecessor, while, on the performance department, overall results were favorable on OnePlus 2.
