A few hours from now, the Vivo X21 will be launching today in the Philippines. Aside from the Vivo NEX series, people are still anticipating for the release of the Vivo X21 since it is the first commercial smartphone that will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
Aside from the scanner, the Vivo device still has some other features to offer.
As mentioned, instead of the usual rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, the Vivo X21 will be sporting an in-display one. One of this scanner’s advantages is that it enables the device to have thin bezels even at the bottom. Furthermore, it lessens the number of details at the back of the phone giving it a more minimalistic design.
Not only did Vivo make some improvements on their scanner, but they added an additional feature to their Face Unlock as well. This additional feature is called Face Wake which allows the device to record 1,024 features of the user’s face through a 3D scan. The company has mentioned that the feature makes use of the Vivo X21’s front camera as well as an infrared light.
The FunTouch OS was developed by the company itself. Since the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo, Vivo included the FunTouch OS 4.0 in the Vivo X21 which is actually based on the mentioned OS.
The Vivo X21 features a 6.28″ Super AMOLED notched display with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 and an aspect ratio of 19:9. Its screen size is bigger than most current smartphone displays in the market. If you’re a fan of large displays, then this smartphone might be the one for you.
Another thing to look forward to in the upcoming Vivo device is its audio. It contains Hi-Fi audio with Deepfield Sound effect technology. Vivo has stated that this feature offers a clear and panoramic sound as well as a strong bass.
