Filter By Price & Features
In today’s market, most consumers seek a device that seamlessly balances aesthetic appeal with versatile functionality that can handle daily activities such as movie streaming, casual gaming, and occasional photography. However, such all-encompassing versatility often comes with a premium price point, which is a common obstacle for many prospective buyers.
But, with the realme 12 5G, you can get this combo of power and beauty at an affordable price of Php 14,999.
Chic Design
The realme 12 5G is surely an eye candy, capturing attention with its design reminiscent of trendy luxury watches. Its aesthetic charm is evident in the camera module that resembles a Sunburst Dial; while the zipper-like pattern mimics the sophistication of a 3D Jubilee Bracelet, accentuated by polished edges for a fined finish.
Its design may be similar to its bigger siblings, realme 12+ and realme 12 Pro+, however, this device distinguishes itself with a glossy back panel compared to the vegan leather backs found in its siblings.
Aside from that, this device is pretty sleek too having a 7.69mm Ultra Slim form factor and weighs 188 grams which is a tad lighter and slicker than its siblings. This device also comes in 2 colorways such as Twilight Purple and Woodland Green which I think are pretty chic.
Beauty Inside
Its outside appearance is not just beaut but so is its performance, matching its exterior aesthetics this device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chip with ARM Mali-G57 GPU which is responsible for delivering captivating graphics on your phone’s display, as well as elevating your gaming experience with its responsiveness and smooth navigation.
Apart from that, this device also boasts a 6.72” display size with an FHD+ Resolution of 2400×1080. Meaning, the details on the screen look sharp and vibrant. Since this device has a 91.4% screen-to-body ratio, expect minimal bezels and maximized visual space as the display extends nearly edge to edge.
Furthermore, the realme 12 5G is equipped with a 120Hz refresh rate. This feature enhances the fluidity and responsiveness of on-screen animations and transitions, resulting in a smoother and seamless user experience. May it be scrolling your social media feeds, web browsing, or even playing games.
Now, for individuals like myself who spend a considerable amount of time outdoors and rely on their phones for various tasks, the realme 12 5G ensures seamless functionality even under direct sunlight. This device has a brightness capability of up to 950 nits that guarantees clear and legible screen visibility.
Capturing Moments
Apart from a phone’s aesthetics and processing power, we have to admit that most of the time, a phone’s cameras significantly influence our decision-making process when selecting a new smartphone.
A good example is the realme 12 5G. Its rear camera is equipped with 108MP 3x Zoom Portrait (which is similar to the realme 12 Pro+) and a 2MP black and white sensor. So, taking stunning and clear photographs without breaking the bank won’t be a problem at all.
This device empowers you to unleash your creativity and become a “Portrait Master,” as their slogan suggests. Whether you’re capturing candid moments with friends, picturesque landscapes, or artistic portraits, the realme 12 5G ensures that you can achieve professional-quality results without compromising on cost.
When it comes to its front-facing camera, the realme 12 5G boasts an 8MP camera. Details are sharp and crisp, and what I like about most is it gives a true-to-life skin tone. However, I noticed that this device is quite having trouble in terms of subject to background separation.
Power Generator
This device has a 5,000mAh battery, so doing your day-to-day tasks like social media browsing, a little bit of gaming, and watching your favorite movies without the thought of running out of power too quickly is not something you should worry about. As a matter of fact, on our standard video loop test wherein the brightness and volume are at 50%, the device lasted for 1 hour and 45 minutes which is a good number.
The Verdict
So overall, the realme 12 5G is indeed a balance of power of beauty. At a practical price of Php 14,999. This device proves that it’s not just about having a good performance or a chic design individually but about achieving harmony between these elements to provide a satisfying user experience., making it an attractive option for consumers seeking a balanced smartphone.

View Detail >>At the end of August 2024, Samsung officially introduced the Galaxy A06 in the Philippines. Now, more than a month later, it’s time to see how the Samsung Galaxy A06 performs.
With its budget-friendly price tag, is the Galaxy A06 really worth your money? Here’s our review to find out!
Design and Build
The Galaxy A06 has a simple and straight-forward look. Our review unit is the Blue Black variant, which features a dark blue color with a subtle striped pattern.
At first, the stripes seem like just a design, but when you touch it, you can actually feel the texture. This can be helpful for people with sweaty hands, giving you a better grip. It’s also very light, weighing just 189 grams.
However, this finish easily shows fingerprints. Even after wiping it down, you might see streaks that can look untidy. If you like to keep your phone looking clean, I suggest using a case could be a good idea.
The Galaxy A06 features a punch-hole design at the top of the display. On the right side, the volume rockers and power button stick out slightly, making them easy to find. On the left side, you’ll find the SIM card tray located at the top. At the bottom of the phone, there’s a speaker grill, a headphone jack, and a Type-C charging port. Overall, the layout is simple and user-friendly.
Display
The Samsung Galaxy A06 comes with a 6.7-inch PLS LCD display, offering a 720 x 1600 HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.
In testing, the display performs well, delivering clear and vibrant visuals with good brightness. Colors appear natural without being overly saturated, I can say that it is good for watching videos with bright visuals.
The screen is crisp and offers a pleasant viewing experience for everyday use.
However, sometimes there can be issues with lag. When I type using the keyboard, the letters might appear a bit slowly and show up on the screen with a slight delay. This doesn’t happen every day, of course, but it tends to occur when I have several apps open at the same time.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy A06’s camera is as straightforward as its design, featuring a dual setup with a 50MP wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
While trying out the main camera, I found the results to be a bit underwhelming. The colors felt washed out, lacking the vibrancy that would make photos stand out. The images appeared somewhat dull, which left me a bit disappointed.
As for the zoom, there are options for 1x, 2x, 4x, and 10x. However, I wouldn’t recommend using the higher zoom levels, as they tend to result in grainy and blurry images. While you can still make out details at 4x and 10x, the overall quality is far from ideal. This camera just doesn’t seem suited for zoom photography.
On a brighter note, the Portrait Mode was a pleasant surprise. The bokeh effect is impressive, creating a soft background blur that highlights the subject nicely. The edge detection is spot-on, especially in well-lit conditions, and I love how the colors really pop in this mode. The details come through nicely, and personally, I’m quite happy with the results when using Portrait Mode. It adds a nice touch to the photos and elevates the overall experience.
I also tried the Night Mode, and it’s definitely a nice feature worth highlighting. Below, I’ll share how it compares to the normal mode. When taking photos at night, especially outdoors, the results are noticeably brighter. Dark areas become much more visible, allowing you to see more details in the photo. However, I did notice that the lights tend to become a bit streaky, but the colors remain nice and accurate.
What really stood out to me was taking photos of the night sky. Below is a comparison between the normal mode and the Night Mode, and you can clearly see the difference. In Night Mode, details like clouds and leaves become visible, which you can’t really capture in normal mode. Overall, the Night Mode performed well, and in my opinion, it adds a lot of value to low-light photography.
For selfies, the results are a bit lacking in color but gave me a whiter complexion. However, my blemishes were still visible so I can say that it looks natural.
What I like about this one is just like the portrait mode on the rear camera, the portrait mode on the front camera offered better color accuracy. I liked how it didn’t look pale or overly blurred.
Here are some sample photos below.
Performance
The Samsung Galaxy A06, is powered by MediaTek Helio G85, it offers 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM with either 64 GB or 128 GB of eMMC storage.
From my experience with the device, it’s a capable option for everyday tasks, especially for users who need a budget-friendly phone. Casual use like browsing, video streaming, and light gaming, social media scrolling run smoothly for the most part.
However, I experienced that there are occasional moments when the phone feels slightly slower in response. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for casual users who prioritize affordability.
When using the device for gaming, I’ve definitely noticed that it heats up significantly, especially after hours of play.
Benchmark Results
Battery and Charging
As for its charging, the Samsung Galaxy A06 only needs 34 minutes minutes to go from 0% to 50% using its 25W charger.
In our video loop test with 50% brightness and 50% volume, the Galaxy A06 performed well with a total of 10 hours and 23 minutes. I was able to watch movies non-stop with no noticeable heat and lags.
Pricing and Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy A06 comes in two configurations, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant is priced at PHP5,790, while the 4GB + 128GB version is available for PHP6,790.
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A06 is a good choice for those who prioritize affordability and basic smartphone functionality.
It handles day-to-day tasks efficiently and offers impressive features like Night Mode and fast charging. However, if you’re into photography or someone who expects a bit more power and speed, you might find the camera and performance somewhat underwhelming.
That said, the Galaxy A06 is worth considering if you’re looking for an entry-level device that gets the job done without breaking the bank.
