Spotify has announced a new feature called Taste Profile, which enables users to review and adjust how the platform interprets their listening preferences.
The announcement was made by Gustav Söderström, Co-CEO of Spotify, during the South by Southwest (SXSW) event.
This new feature interprets their listening habits based on the music, podcasts, and audiobooks they consume. It shows details such as preferred artists, genres, and listening patterns.
Users can also provide feedback if the recommendations do not align with their interests.
They can request more or less of certain types of content or indicate what they want to listen to at a given time. This feedback helps adjust what appears on the Spotify homepage.

The feature also considers listening habits and activities. For example, users may receive different suggestions if they often listen to upbeat music during workouts or podcasts during commutes.
Taste Profile will first roll out as a beta feature for Premium subscribers in New Zealand in the coming weeks.
Spotify said the feature can be adjusted by users or left unchanged if they prefer the current recommendation system.
