Rumors have been surfacing that Sony has canceled their upcoming Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5C which has been said to be released in the second half of this year.
The reason behind this is that their 2018 high-end smartphone flagships, Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact didn’t meet the expected sales. The source said that there are plans on naming the tablets Xperia Z5 (10-inch) and Xperia Z5C (8-inch).
Another reason they’ve been seeing here is that Google seems to lose its interest in Android tablets because this segment has been declining for four years in a row. This issue has flamed because the tablet section went missing on the official Android website.

The last time Xperia released a tablet was last March 2015, it is the Xperia Z4 that comes with a 10.1-inch screen 2K display. Just like the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 compact, it also didn’t do well in terms of sales and Sony had to stop the device’s yearly upgrade cycle.
As of now, it looks like Sony is struggling in terms of selling their products may be because of their marketing strategies and also in terms of innovating their design since 2013.
