
Another addition to the Xperia X lineup is Sony’s Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. Being below the Xperia XZ Premium, the devices don’t only offer a refreshed design but also boasts powerful specs.
That said, the Sony Xperia XZ1 sports a 5.2-inch, 1080p HDR display while its Compact variant has a 4.6-inch 720p screen. Along with their similar Gorilla Glass 5 protection and water resistance is their 2,700mAh battery capacity.

Inside, the XZ1 and XZ1 Compact has the same Snapdragon 835, 4GB RAM, Adreno 540 GPU. The difference is that the base model offers 64GB ROM while the Compact model only has 32GB ROM. The good news is both will be launching with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo.
Camera features were deemed to be similar for the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact as well. Both have a 19MP rear camera with Sony’s Motion Eye and Predictive Capture feature. On the front, the XZ1 has a 13MP while the Compact has an 8MP wide angle selfie shooter.

Sony introduces a new feature called 3D Creator to the Xperia XZ1. The feature allows users to scan objects and save its as a 3D image or print it using 3D printers. Rumors also said that scanning your face could be used as an avatar in games and such.
Speaking of release and price, the Sony Xperia XZ1 comes out early on September 19 at the price of $699 (PHP 35,000) in Amazon, Best Buy stores. Meanwhile, the XZ1 Compact follows on October 4 for $599 (PHP 30,000). We’ll keep you posted on its Philippines release.
