The two largest telcos in the Philippines, PLDT-Smart and Globe telecom have started activating 5G signals and networks in select Metro Manila areas such as BGC in Taguig, Ortigas, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong, Trinoma mall and North Avenue in Quezon City, SM MOA in Pasay City, Makati, and Clark Green City in Pampanga.

It is Smart that almost covers all mentioned locations and areas while Globe has Makati and BGC with a 5G signal available starting this July 30.
Along with the 5G network, Smart and Globe will start to release 5G-enabled and ready smartphones from Samsung, Huawei, Realme, OPPO, and Vivo. They all will also have all SIM cards and plans compatible with 5G as long as your phone is capable to connect to the said signal.

Other cities and provinces will have the 5G network available this year including Cebu City, Davao City, Iloilo City, Boracay Island, Bacolod, and Baguio City.
The upcoming 3rd telco, DITO Telecommunity, will launch in 2021 with pilot cities to have 5G signal, especially in Mindanao and Davao area.
